“True Detective” starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson has a trailer.

The HBO series from Nic Pizzolatto stars McConaughey and Harrelson as detectives on the hunt for a serial killer in New Orleans. The eight-episode series takes place over a span of nearly 20 years.

Kevin Dunn, Michelle Monaghan and Elizabeth Reaser also star.

“True Detective” premieres in January 2014.
